This year we will be located in Wooster at the Trintiy Church on North Street from 4pm-9pm. Since Wooster has the biggest population of homeless and hungry in the Wayne County area we would like to make it more convenient for everyone involved. We were blessed to feed A LOT of people in need last year, and hope to do the same this year. This event is not only for the homeless, but also those who have fallen on hard times and may just need a meal for them and their family. After some research I've leaned that the homeless and hungry are not only in the downtown area but have found themselves all over the wooster area. We will have a van shuttle service available to pick people up (IN GROUPS) and return them to their locations after they've had their meal. if you don't not have transportation please try to reach out before the day of so we can plan our trips to get people to and from the church. If you are disabled and can not leave your home please reach out before the day of so we can plan deliveries to those who can not come out. We would like to keep delivers to those who absolutely can not leave their home. We ask that if you do come eat, respect the church, clean up after yourself and respect their property, as well as the shuttle transportation. If you need a meal come get a meal, if u need to get warm for a little while come get warm.A little background as to why we do this.......
We decided to do this 4 days before Gage passed. Because Gage had things going on in his own life he said "dad I really hope I'm here for that I love doing stuff like that for people". If you don't already know for years my kids have wrapped their own Xboxs and worked to help provide a family with Christmas each year. Gage at 16 one time was running a project. I told him i didn't care who he hired as long as they stayed busy and got things done. Gage of course hired all his friends lol, he also went to lunch one day and he saw a homeless man. He bought him a sandwich and he asked him did he want a job. That man worked with us for a long time and I'm sure is forever grateful to my son. Gage will be here for this dinner and every dinner now as we plan to do this every year and continue his kindness for others.
