Our Story & Why We Ride
Last year, we rode to show Lavar he wasn't fighting alone. Because of your overwhelming love, energy, and generosity, the inaugural "Ride for Lavar" was a massive success, sparking a movement that led to the creation of The Lavar for Hope Foundation.
This year, we are back, bigger and stronger, for the 2nd Annual Ride for Lavar: Pedaling for Hope.
Lavar's journey is the ultimate testament to resilience. Resilience isn’t just about withstanding a storm; it’s about how we grow, build character, and lift others up while we are in it. Lavar’s effortless positivity and strength have inspired all of us to turn a personal battle into a collective mission.
We ride to honor his fight, celebrate the power of sharing our stories, and save lives by spreading a crucial message: prioritize early detection, listen to your body, and take charge of your health.

Join us on August 29th, 2026, as we pedal together and continue to carry the legacy "Ride for Lavar"

• Date: Saturday, August 29th, 2026
• Ride Route: We'll begin our ride at India Point Park in Providence, journeying along the scenic East Bay Bike Path to Colt State Park in Bristol, and then returning to India Point Park. This beautiful round trip is approximately 25 miles.
• Post-Ride Celebration: Join us for a celebratory BBQ at Colt State Park from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM!

Your Registration Includes:

• Entry to the 'Ride for Lavar' Bicycle Run
• A commemorative 'Ride for Lavar' T-Shirt
• Delicious BBQ lunch at Colt State Park

Important Information for Participants:

• T-Shirt Size: To ensure you receive the correct size, please provide your T-shirt size (e.g., S, M, L, XL) during registration.
• Bike Rental Needs: If you don't have a bicycle and require one for the ride, please indicate this during registration so we can explore assistance options.
• BBQ Food Donations: We're seeking generous contributions to our BBQ! If you are able to donate a food item (e.g., salads, desserts, side dishes), please contact [email protected] to coordinate.
