Float-In Movie Night is Back!
Join the City of Marathon and the Lagoon on Grassy Key for our second annual Float-In Movie Night.
Grab your favorite float, kayak, paddleboard, or simply relax along the shoreline as we enjoy a movie under the stars in one of the most unique settings in the Florida Keys. This year's featured film is "The Perfect Storm," starring Kevin Costner, George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, and Diane Lane.
Bring your family, friends, blankets, lawn chairs, and floats for an unforgettable evening of fun, community, and outdoor entertainment. Whether you're floating in the lagoon or watching from the shore, it's the perfect way to spend a relaxing evening in Marathon.

Float-In Movie Night – Know Before You Go!
📍 Location: The Lagoon at Grassy Key
59300 Overseas Highway
🕠 Event Opens: 6:00 p.m.
🌅 Movie begins at dark (Sunset is approximately 7 p.m.)
Please arrive early to check in, find your spot, and get settled before the movie starts.
🚗 Please carpool!
Parking is limited, and carpooling helps everyone get in and out more easily after the event.
🛟 Bring your own float
Life vests are mandatory if you enter the water. You're welcome to bring your favorite float! Please be considerate of others and avoid oversized floats that may block views or take up excessive space.
🪑 Prefer to stay on land?
Bring a beach chair or blanket and enjoy the movie from our beachside seating area.
✅ Event check-in required
Please stop by the registration table (opens at 6:30 p.m.) upon arrival. All participants must sign waivers.
🍔 Food & Drinks
Bongo's will be open throughout the evening serving food and beverages. No outside food or drinks are permitted.
👨👩👧👦 Youth Safety Guidelines
• Children 12 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
• Youth ages 13–17 may enjoy the lagoon without a parent in the water, provided a parent or guardian remains onsite at the park and has signed the required waiver, and the youth is wearing a life vest
