2nd Annual Boricua Film Festival
On Saturday, June 6th, the Williams Center in Rutherford, NJ becomes a space for Puerto Rican stories, memory, music, and movement. Presented by the Boricua Community Building Center, a grassroots nonprofit, in collaboration with AdocPR’s Cinema on the Road, the festival features 15 short and medium length films across two theaters, live performances, and a film panel with guest speakers whose work has helped shape culture, education, storytelling, and community dialogue. Featured guests include Inés Mongil, Samantha J. Garcia-Sherpa, Andre Lee Muñiz, Gualterio Alomar, and Daliana Alvarado, individuals whose contributions as filmmakers, authors, publishers, and cultural voices carry real meaning for our community and the stories we pass on.

Audiences will experience films including Water Strike, Chimenea de muerte, and De tribus y máscaras, along with Bomba y Plena and Salsaimarrones de Nueva Jersey and Spirit in Motion 3.0, plus singers and poets throughout the event. More than a screening, this is a chance to be in the room with people who are keeping Boricua history, identity, and creative expression visible, accessible, and alive for new generations.

The festival also shines a light on the work of El Comedor del Kennedy and Mi Patria PR.
