I would like to share important information regarding fire protection in the Gardnerville fire service district. Gardnerville Volunteer Fire Department is currently working to improve the I.S.O rating for our fire service district. If this rating is improved, homeowners within our district will notice significantly lowered home insurance prices. Through the support of our community at last year’s fundraiser, we were able to purchase several pieces of much needed equipment for our upcoming inspection. We still have a few remaining items left to acquire, and your continued support will help us complete these essential upgrades.In an effort to continue raising funds for the equipment needed to help improve our I.S.O. rating at our upcoming inspection, the Gardnerville Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting the 2nd Annual Barbecue Chicken Dinner and Cookoff on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Plates will consist of barbecue chicken, stewed potatoes, slaw, and cornbread and will be served from 11:00a.m. until 1:00p.m at Gardnerville Volunteer Fire Department.; eat in or take out. A donation of $12.00 is requested per plate. These donations will go directly towards equipment and resources to help benefit our community. Additionally, monetary donations towards supplies needed for the event may be dropped off or mailed to Gardnerville Volunteer Fire Department, 9521 County Home Road, Ayden, NC 28513.
We are asking those in the community to consider purchasing tickets through the below voucher to help support this endeavor. While walk ins are welcome, your prompt response will help us prepare for the event.
