We’re super excited to welcome Billy T Award winners Justine Smith and Cori Gonzalez-Macuer to Taupō's number one location on July 7 2026 for a very special edition of 2MILE LAUGHS. Cori made history as the first comedian to perform at the Two Mile Bay Sailing Club, and it’s great to have him back on that stage, alongside "Jussi".

Justine Smith
Having won the Billy T Award, the NZ Comedy Guild Best Female Comedian (at least four, maybe five, times) and the NZCG Best MC (definitely three, maybe four, times), Justine has established herself as one of the key players in New Zealand Comedy. With a flick of the eye and “To be honest...” she will have you all in stitches. Justine is a regular face on our screens, THREE’s 7Days,along with previous shows The Project, TVNZ’s Have You Been Paying Attention, along with many stand-up shows such as AotearoHA, A Night At The Classic, After Hours, Stand Up Aotearoa, and many Comedy Galas – which she also hosted in 2021. Known for her regularly performances at shows in the NZ International Comedy Festival, The Justine Smith Hour, Return of the Jussi and Jussi Town, have had audiences returning year after year. Justine has also collaborated with Ben Hurley with their split bill show A Cheeky Half Each and taken shows to many festivals around the country. 2023’s NZICF show Actually, I’m A Cat Person was a roaring success, and continues to feature in festivals around Aotearoa. Justine does not suffer fools. Oh no she doesn’t. Those who know Justine will readily testify to the fact that she is one of the most honest comics you’re likely to meet. This combined with her razor-sharp wit and biting commentary also make Justine one of the funniest people you’re likely to meet. If you were to try and define Justine as a lover or a fighter, you’d have to say a healthy mix of both. She is capable of tearing strips off people on stage, and then having a drink with them after the show. A leading light of New Zealand Comedy, Justine is just as comfortable in a theatre or a local bar in the country.
Cori Gonzalez-Macuer
As seen on Mean Mums, Wellington Paranormal, 7Days, Have You Been Paying Attention and cult Kiwi film, What We Do In The Shadows, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer has been one of the more unique comedy talents in NZ since he started in 2003. Cori is a winner of the prestigious Billy T Award and has performed in the U.S, U.K, Australia, Singapore, South America and as far as the Middle East, as well as doing multiple tours around NZ. He has also acted and worked as a writer on some of NZ’s most iconic television shows and films. His television writing credits include Jono And Ben, 7Days, The Project, Have You Been Paying Attention and he was one of the main writers on seasons 2 and 3 of acclaimed local scripted comedy, Wellington Paranormal. More recently, he, alongside co-writers, Louis Mendiola and Johnny Brugh, sold a television pilot to major TV network, FX. He also just signed with the management company, Media Range Partners in L.A., who also manage Tom Hardy, Halle Berry, Bradley Cooper, Colin Farrell and Eminem, to name a few.
