What’s Included:
Discover Varanasi & Bodhgaya
  • Exploring Varanasi: Delve into the enchanting spiritual hub of India, where every corner resonates with ancient mystique and sacred traditions. Highlights include the iconic Kashi Vishwanath Temple, revered as one of the holiest Hindu shrines; the serene Sarnath, where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon; and the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony along the banks of the sacred river Ganges.
  • The ghats of Varanasi are a timeless confluence where the currents of life and death intertwine to weave a tapestry of profound spiritual significance. Here, amidst the gentle murmur of the sacred Ganges, pilgrims perform ancient rituals of purification and salvation, while funeral pyres cast their flickering flames into the night sky, symbolising the eternal cycle of existence. In this sacred space, where the boundaries between the earthly and the divine are blurred, visitors are invited to contemplate the profound mysteries of life and transcendence amidst the timeless rhythm of the river and the echoes of ancient chants.
  • Explore the tradition of Devi, or the Divine Feminine, who is of immense importance in Hindu mythology and worship. Varanasi has several temples dedicated to different forms of the goddess – not just Shiva. They are scattered throughout the city, each with its own history and rituals.
  • One of the most important Devi temples in Varanasi is the Durga Kund temple. It is dedicated to the goddess Durga and is located near the Durga Kund pond. The temple is particularly important during the festival of Navaratri, when elaborate celebrations are held in honour of the goddess.
  • Immerse yourself in the sacred ambience of this UNESCO World Heritage Site with the Mahabodhi Temple, where the Buddha attained enlightenment, and the Bodhi Tree, the sacred fig tree (Ficus religiosa), which holds immense significance in Buddhism as it is believed to be the tree under which Siddhartha Gautama, the historical Buddha, attained enlightenment over 2,500 years ago.
  • Explore a diverse range of Buddhist traditions at the various monasteries and temples dotted around Bodh Gaya. Each offers a unique insight into the region’s rich spiritual heritage.
  • Witness the captivating chants and rituals of monks and devotees. Immerse yourself in the vibrant life of Buddhist culture and spirituality.
  • Embracing Local Living: Experience the true essence of Varanasi by traveling like a local, using indigenous modes of transportation for an authentic and adventurous journey.
  • Sunrise boat trip along the sacred Ganges in Varanasi, where every ripple whispers ancient tales of spirituality and renewal. Varanasi looks different from the Ganga.
  • Concerts & Sightseeing
  • Inclusive Packages: Your trip covers accommodation and two meals a day, featuring authentic Indian cuisine. Choose between a single or double room according to your preference.
  • EXTRA: If participants are interested, there is an opportunity to take part in an immersive Dhrupad/Tabla workshop, inviting enthusiasts to delve deep into the heart of classical Hindustani music in Varanasi.
