21st-Century Europe: Perceptions and challenges

Bringing together leading writers, thinkers and commentators from across Europe, this wide-ranging discussion explores the political, social and cultural forces transforming the continent today. Lea Ypi, Georgi Gospodinov, Andrey Kurkov, Ece Temelkuran, Sylvie Kauffmann, Ivan Krastev, Nathalie Tocci and Frank Trentmann offer perspectives informed by their different countries, disciplines and experiences.

Together, they will consider how Europeans understand themselves and one another in a period marked by war, geopolitical uncertainty, political change and shifting ideas of European identity. The discussion asks what these different perspectives can tell us about Europe today—and about the choices and challenges that lie ahead.
