COMPETITION RULES
Time flies fast and we are less than half year away from 21 st Kup Zagreb.
Competition rules are same as last year:
• Anyone who registers can participate, thereby agreeing to the competition rules. Children and juniors do not pay the registration fee.
• The number of models which participant can register is not limited.
• Based on the participant's age, the competition is divided into three categories:
Children (up to 13 years old),
Junior (from 14 to 17 years old),
Senior (18 years old and above).
• The organizer will publicly announce the list of competition categories well in advance of the event, which will include the names of the categories and a brief description.
• The categories announced by the organizer can be changed on the competition, depending on the number of models registered in each category.
• The organizer will specify the deadlines for registration, setup, and pickup of models. Models picked up before the designated time will be disqualified.
• The organizer ensures order and supervision during the setup and pickup of models, as well as the movement of models on the tables during the judging. The organizer and judges are not responsible for any potential damage to the models.
• Visitors and participants are prohibited from touching or moving models on the tables, including their own, except in exceptional cases with the organizer's permission.
• Participants are not allowed to enter the judging area or disturb the judges, as this will result in disqualification.
• The organizer will place visible warnings on the tables informing visitors and participants that touching or moving models is prohibited.
• Models deemed inappropriate or offensive by the organizer, according to general taste standards (explicit, offensive on religious, racial, or other grounds), will be disqualified, and the participant cannot appeal the decision.
• Models that are reduced representations of historical figures are not associated with ideologies or political views, but are marked with the intent of historical accuracy and authenticity. All symbols used on the models that are present in historical literature and are not legally prohibited in Croatia are allowed.
• It is recommended that models be firmly attached to their bases to prevent accidental falling and damage. If not, the participant must attach a clear label to the model stating: "Model is not attached to the base."
• In regular categories, all models can participate only if they didn't participate in any former Kup Zagreb competitions.
• In special categories, models that have participated in former Kup Zagreb competitions, model competitions in Croatia and abroad can compete, but they must be thematically appropriate according to the criteria of the special category.
• Models entered in the wrong categories will not be judged. If participant is unsure which category his model belongs to, he can contact the organizer or ask at the competition before filling out the registration form.
• Documentation about the model (photographs, components, etc.) is not mandatory but can be submitted if the author believes the judges should be informed about the work or subject (additional work, lesser-known details, scratch-building, etc.).
• Models in both regular and special categories will be awarded ranks: gold, silver, and bronze, i.e., 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
• A special award "Best of Kids" will be given for the best children model.
• A special award "Best of Junior" will be given for the best junior model.
• A special award "Best of Show" will be given for the best senior model.
• It is allowed for models/modelers to be awarded by clubs, sponsors, or individuals, but this requires prior approval from the organizer.
• Individuals or clubs may exhibit models within the competition without competing. In this case, they should contact the organizer before the event to arrange a display table, provided there is enough space. Model-making presentations or workshops are also possible during the competition, with prior notification to the organizer, depending on available space.
JUDGING RULES
• Regardless of the material used for the models, they will be judged according to the rules for plastic models.
• The judging teams consist of three judges, who can be from Croatia or abroad.
• The organizer ensures an adequate number of qualified judges and arranges judging teams based on their knowledge and specialties.
• Judges are experienced modelers who perform their duties on a voluntary basis.
• A judge is allowed to compete but is not allowed to judge in the category in which he is competing.
• The judging method is based on the observation of the models.
• The judging team first selects models that will be considered for awards. The criteria for selection are technical accuracy of execution and neatness. Models that are geometrically inaccurate, with poorly treated seams, visible fingerprints or mistakes in painting and decal placement, stains on clear parts, or similar basic errors will not be considered for awards.
• The selected models are then thoroughly reviewed by the judging team. The complexity of the model's construction, the quality of the work and details, the believability, and the historical and technical accuracy are all assessed.
• If an individual model (outside of the diorama and vignette categories) is presented on a base with an accompanying figure (such as a pilot, tank crew member, etc.), the quality of these elements will also be judged. If the presentation elements are of high quality, this can positively influence the score, but the opposite is also true and can reduce the score. The addition of aftermarket parts or an open engine, conversions, and scratch-building do not by themselves provide an advantage in judging; rather, the quality and finished appearance of the model are the deciding factors.
• For more complex works, such as dioramas and vignettes, the overall believability and logic of the entire scene will be judged, as well as all elements both individually and as a whole.
• Each judge reviews and evaluates the models individually, but the final score is determined by agreement and consensus among all three judges.
• The score and ranking of the individual models will be recorded in a list at the end of the judging and submitted to the organizer. Only models that are awarded will be included in the list.
• If fewer than three models are registered in a category or even just one, the category will not be changed. The judges will proceed with judging using the same method and award a ranking based on quality.
• In the children's and junior categories, the judging criteria will be appropriate for the age and expected skill level of the young modelers.
• A modeler may enter one category with an unlimited number of models, but only one, i.e., the best, of all their registered models in that category will be considered for an award.
• After the judging is completed in both regular and special categories, all the judging teams will decide on the awards for the best model of the competition (Best of Kids, Best of Junior, and Best of Show). Only models awarded with the rank "gold" will be considered for these prizes. All judges from all teams will jointly view the models selected for "Best of" and then vote. The model with the most votes wins the prize.
• The judging rules will be publicly published by the organizer, and by registering for the competition, the participant accepts the rules and judging criteria. The judges' decisions are final, cannot be changed later, and are not open to discussion.
• Official results will be published via digital media within 7 working days after the competition and award ceremony. Results will only be published for the awarded works in a PDF digital format, which will include the category name, the participant's full name, the name of the model, and the awarded prize

PRAVILA NATJECANJA
Dječja (do navršenih 13 godina),
Juniorska (od 14 do navršenih 17 godina),
Seniorska (od navršenih 18 godina nadalje).
- Organizator će u dovoljnom vremenskom roku prije natjecanja javno objaviti popis natjecateljskih kategorija, koji će sadržavati nazive kategorija i njihov kratak opis.
- Za najbolju seniorsku maketu dodjeljuje se posebna nagrada „Best of show“.
- U dječjim i juniorskim kategorijama kriteriji suđenja bit će primjereni uzrastu i očekivanoj vještini mladih maketara.
- Nakon završetka suđenja u redovnim i posebnim kategorijama, svi sudački timovi odlučuju o nagradama za najbolju maketu natjecanja (Best of kids, Best of junior i Best of show).
