2026 Write-to-Win Conference for Secondary Students and Teachers
About this Event
Workshops presented by OWP Teacher Consultants will provide pre-writing and drafting activities for various genres including poetry, essays, personal narratives, descriptions, flash fiction, short stories, and super sentences. Students attending the conference may select two grade-level appropriate sessions, and they will leave with a rough draft of a piece to enter into the 2027 Write-to-Win Writing Contest.
Teachers, you may bring up to five students. Conference is limited to 100 participants.
All participants will be able to hear Poet: Ken Hada during the General Session.
Ken Hada lives in the Crosstimbers Section of rural Oklahoma. He finds inspiration from the Natural world, both at home and in his travels. Much of his writing concerns questions of spirituality and the human experience within Nature. Author of fourteen collections of poetry, his latest book is Nexus (2026). His poetry has been awarded by The Western Writers of America, "The Wrangler Award" from the National Western Heritage Museum, the Poetry Prize by South Central Modern Language Association and The Oklahoma Center for the Book.

Registration Information
The ratio of students to teacher/adult must be no greater than 5:1. (Parents and student teachers are welcome! If you want to bring more than 5 students, just bring more adults. Example: 15 students would warrant 3 adults. ) POs are accepted.
