2026 Women’s Empowerment and Resource Summit

The WOW Workshop with the City of Gastonia is hosting the 2026 Women’s Empowerment and Resource Summit designed to bridge the gap between women in our community and the essential services required for safety, stability, and self-sufficiency. By utilizing the T. Jeffers Center and Park, we aim to provide a safe, accessible "one-stop shop" for women navigating complex life transitions.

The Summit will feature seven integrated resource tracks to address the full spectrum of a woman's needs:

• Safety & Advocacy: Supporting those recovering from domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking through crisis support and legal aid.
• Economic Stability: Providing job skills training, financial literacy, and career recruitment for those seeking independence.
• Health & Wellness: Connecting attendees with mental health agencies, substance use resources, and basic medical care.
• Housing & Emergency Support: Assisting those facing housing instability or homelessness with emergency shelter information and affordable housing groups.
• Family & Legal Aid: Providing guidance on childcare, custody issues, and family law attorneys.
• Individuals with Special Abilities: Offering vocational rehabilitation and independent living resources for individuals with disabilities and their caregivers.
• Immigration & Integration: Aiding with legal status, residency, and cultural integration through ESL and citizenship classes.
