WEST COAST SWING PERFORMANCE TEAM
When: Monday nights from 6:15pm - 7:15pm
June 1st - September 7th (15 Weeks)
Where: The Stampede (2430 S Havana St, Aurora, CO 80014)
Who: Must be proficient with West Coast Swing basics.
Instructors: Olya Khvan & Jonathan Prichard
2025 Performance:
Cost: $60 up front (cash or +$3.00 credit card / Venmo fee), Plus weekly Stampede entrance fee of $10. After the first week, we won’t be able to offer refunds.
Performance: September 12th, 2026 at Denver's largest West Coast Swing event: SwingTime (https://swingtimewcs.com/), pending SwingTime approval
The partnered performance team will learn a routine, choreographed and taught by the amazing All-Star dancers Jonathan Prichard and Olya Khvan. This is an amazing opportunity to deepen your understanding of patterns, technique, and musicality; while locking it all into muscle memory through repetition and performance. Learning choreography is one of the fastest ways to level up your dancing!
The goal is to perform the routine at local dance venues and at Denver’s largest National West Coast Swing event, ‘SwingTime’ on SaturdaySeptember 12th, 2026. Performing is completely optional as some dancers join just to grow their skills without the pressure of being on stage, and that’s totally welcome.
The cost will require an upfront payment of $60 dollars (+$3.00 transaction fee if using credit card or Venmo). This is to encourage everyone to commit to the entire session of practices as it is very difficult to manage choreography without a consistent team and dancers (After the first week, we won’t be able to offer refunds). Again, this is a great way to accelerate your dancing level, make great friends, and have lots of fun!
A few Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I participate if I can’t attend every week?
Yes, the instructors will provide a video recap of what was covered that week. You can practice what you missed on your own and catch right up.
What level of proficiency in West Coast Swing do I need to be to participate?
The basics of West Coast Swing should already be mastered with approximately 6+ months of experience dancing West Coast Swing. This routine will work on challenging dancers to reach new higher levels, and not teaching the basics.
Can I participate if I don’t have a partner?
Yes, we will be rotating partners during classes. Once we get closer to the performance dates, we will identify who wants to do the performance and match up partners.
Can I choose my partner?
Yes, although we may still have the entire class rotate during practice sessions to learn from each other.
