2026 TCWCC Conference for Teachers of Creative Writing
About this Event
Over the past three years, we’ve been energized to hear from colleagues across the country about innovative approaches to teaching, hands-on writing exercises, grading philosophies, and navigating the unique challenges that come with teaching in smaller and/or open-enrollment institutions. We’re excited to continue this conversation and, this year, invited submissions on the theme of “Connection.” As instructors in institutions where students often rotate in and out and sometimes back again, we face specific challenges building connections in this inherently cohort-less environment.
In addition to our daytime conference presentations, we hope to offer engaging offsite activities in the evenings. Furthermore, while the conference will wrap up the morning of the 7th, all attendees will receive complimentary tickets to our 10th annual Creative Writing Forum, which opens at noon on the 7th. Our Keynote at this year's forum will be Diannely Antigua author of two poetry collections, Ugly Music (YesYes Books, 2019), which was the winner of the Pamet River Prize and a 2020 Whiting Award, and Good Monster (Copper Canyon Press, 2024).
Please note, coffee service and Friday boxed lunch are included in your registration. Grab and go lunches for Saturday are available as an add-on.
Email [email protected] or [email protected] with questions.
For those traveling to Omaha, we recommend The Element Hotel (Midtown). A conference rate of 99 per night has been arranged. Additional information about reserving at that rate will be included in your registration email.
Full Conference Schedule will be posted by September 15th.
