Date Change and Exciting Event Expansion Update

We know many people across our sector are working hard during a period of significant change and uncertainty. In response, we are making an important announcement that creates new opportunities to support the community as disability services continue to evolve.

With major funding reform and legislative change now underway, many participants and organisations are facing increased pressure. We want to share clear information about the changes ahead and the opportunities they create.

This month, we made the difficult decision to postpone and reschedule some events. This was not made lightly, but reflects the urgent need to better support our community and respond to the major changes affecting the sector.

The reforms across our sector are significant and are creating uncertainty for participants, families, providers, and the wider community. As organisers of Australia’s largest disability events and community, we believe we have a responsibility to help people understand these changes, navigate the transition, and access practical information.

Over the past 12 months, we have worked closely with government, advocacy organisations, stakeholders, and the wider community, while hearing directly from visitors, participants, families, and providers. Our events are designed not only to connect people with services, but also to educate, build community capacity, and share important information.

We have been asked to deliver additional events and capacity-building activity as part of our expos, and to expand our offering nationally to better support this transition. For organisations, this is an opportunity to help lead the sector through a critical period, contribute solutions, and demonstrate leadership when the community needs it most.

One of our major venues also changed our event dates after accepting another booking, which forced changes outside our control and created flow-on impacts across our calendar.

Taken together, these factors mean we have had to reschedule some events so we can properly deliver this hugely expanded program during one of the biggest periods of reform and funding change our sector has ever seen.

We would also like to thank our sponsors and the organisations that exhibit with us across Australia. We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support during this period of change, and we recognise the important role you play in driving meaningful outcomes across the sector.

This is an opportunity to be part of meaningful change and help shape stronger outcomes for the community.
