FaithTech Sydney: Putting Your Tech Skills to Work
About this Event
You write code, design products, manage risk, run projects. Most weeks that feels a long way from a child being rescued from exploitation.
It's closer than you think. Abuse has moved online, and the people fighting it need the skills God has already put in your hands.
Join FaithTech Sydney for an evening on stewarding those skills for the most vulnerable.
What's on
Keynote: Hosanna from Destiny Rescue on how exploitation has moved online and what rescue looks like now.
Panel: Making a difference in your everyday with technology skills. With Chris Herrmann (Resiliency and Criticality Specialist, Commonwealth Bank), Dr Bernard Wong (Professor and Dean of IT, Wentworth Institute of Higher Education) and one more panellist to be announced.
Community builders: short updates from people in Sydney already building for good.
Create session: we lament together, then start shaping what we could build in response.
Who it's for
Developers, designers, product people, data and security folk, students, and anyone asking how their faith and their work in tech fit together. You don't need to be technical, and you're welcome wherever you are with faith.

About FaithTech
FaithTech is a global tech community for Christ. We gather in cities around the world to find community, build technology together, and take a redemptive way of building back into our workplaces. Through FaithTech Create, volunteer teams build tools that serve the church and the poor and marginalised.
A note on content: the night deals with abuse and exploitation. It will be handled with care.
