2026 Summer Evenings in the Garden Series

Bring your plant problems, soil questions, pest concerns, compost curiosity, pollinator plans, or “why is this happening?” moments, and leave with clear next steps you can use at home. CCE Onondaga’s gardening resources cover soils, plant care, plant selection, integrated pest management, composting, and year-round gardening education.
What makes this series different is the quality of the answer. Gardening advice is everywhere: online searches, social media threads, plant tags, neighbors, garden centers, and well-meaning family wisdom. Some of it is helpful. Some of it is outdated. Some of it is simply wrong. Whether you are new to gardening or have been growing for years, this series is designed to help you sort through the noise, understand what is happening in your own garden, and make confident choices that fit Onondaga County growing conditions.
Each seasonally themed series session will be approximately 2-hour (5:30–7:30 PM) with:
short rotating talks (15–20 minutes)
guided tours
stations/featurettes
informal Q&A
table displays
available plant/problem diagnosis
composting/pollinator/native plant featurettes
Beginners & Seasoned Gardeners Over 18-Years Old Welcome!
$10/per person
Registration required. Walk-ins not able to attend. All registration links listed here: cceonondaga.org/gardenseries
