Racing History
Before becoming a team owner, Ganassi competed as a driver and made five starts in the Indianapolis 500.
In 1990, he founded Chip Ganassi Racing and built it into one of the most successful and innovative organizations in motorsports history.
In 2010, Ganassi became the only team owner to win the Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500, and Brickyard 400 in the same season. A victory in the 2011 Rolex 24 At Daytona completed an unprecedented run of four of American motorsport’s greatest races within twelve months.
Ganassi has been inducted into both the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame.
