2026 Sankofa Event
About this Event
The 2026 Sankofa Event & Series: Inspiring change through engaging discussion and reflection
Theme: Identity and Internationalism: Challenges and Solutions
Our 2026 theme explores how does our community's identity impact our functional unity on local, national and international levels. The key crisis of Black people's or African American's life is one of a cultural crisis and a scattered and fractured collective identity, therefore stagnating much of our community's organizing efforts. Black people’s issues are not simply local, but national and international, therefore, is it possible for our community to “Think globally, and act locally” regarding our interests?
Young people will facilitate tabletop discussions with community participants after the keynote.
