About this Event
River Valley Gravel Race and Ride, and Road Ride
Whether you choose gravel or pavement, our routes showcase the scenic roads of the Minnesota river valley starting and ending in Mankato. Whether you're racing or just riding it's just $20 to register.
***Prizes for the 100k Gravel Race Option for each racing category***
Event Website :
Start: The ride starts at 8am at Locale Brewing Company .
Finish: All routes end Locale Brewing Company . We plan to have a food truck on site for refueling after your ride. Join us on the patio or in the tap room after your ride to celebrate your accomplishment.
Parking:
Please park in the yellow box areas shown below. Please DO NOT park in the Locale Brewing parking lot. We need this space for staging the start.
This is a non-supported race/ride.:100k, 58k route options. What that means to us is:
1. Know how to change your own flat tire. Bring along a patch kit, extra tube and a way to pump it up.
2. Have a plan for how to get back to your car if you can’t finish the ride. We will not have a sag wagon. We are not able to come and pick you up if you have a problem.
3. Bring your own water bottles, food, snacks, sunscreen, Advil….whatever it is that you need to fuel and take care of your body. There will be businesses along the way where you can fill water bottles and use their bathrooms.
4. Download the route (after you register) to your digital device or print out the cue sheets. The course will not be marked this year.

We’re looking forward to a great ride.
GMBWA events are made entirely possible through local volunteers, and funding comes from our sponsors and registrations. We are a chapter of BikeMN, a 501c3 non-profit. Sponsorship and rider registration funds are intentionally given back to our community to support cycling and walking activities. For the last 13 years, our events have attracted thousands of cyclists from throughout the midwest to Mankato.
Since our inception in 2010, GMBWA has encouraged individuals and families to walk and bike as part of a fun and healthy lifestyle. We also view biking and walking as important solutions to many environmental problems. We work with city, county, and state government, and business and non-governmental organizations, to improve our communities’ infrastructure and opportunities for walking and biking. We do so through sponsoring events like “May Bike Month,” the “Kato Bike Fall Fest”, and “Walktober.” We also offer community bike education in our local schools, and use registration proceeds to provide small grants to local groups that support our mission and vision.
