The PMA Summer Showdown is back for its 3rd year!
We're excited to announce the return of our annual in-house tournament featuring three exciting competition categories this year:
No-Gi Grappling Divisions
Forms Divisions
Kickboxing Divisions
This event is open to all PMA students and is a fantastic opportunity to test your skills, build confidence, and compete in a fun, supportive environment.
Then on Sunday, we will close out the weekend with the return of the PMA Stick-Nic! This family-friendly gathering is open to all PMA students and their families (Kenpo and Jiu Jitsu) and will feature a fun, beginner-friendly Filipino Martial Arts seminar followed by food, games, and community time at the park.
Divisions
No-Gi Grappling (Friday Afternoon/Evening, August 28th)
Open to all ages and skill levels (including Kenpo students).
Competitors will be grouped as closely as possible by:
Age
Weight
Gender
Experience Level
Matches will follow NAGA No-Gi rules, offering a fair and familiar structure for students of all levels.

Forms Division (Saturday Morning)
Open to Juniors, Young Adults, and Adult Kenpo Students.
Competitors will perform:
One form of their choice
One form selected by the judging panel
Judges will evaluate both technical and athletic performance, including:
Proper execution of stances, techniques, and movements
Accuracy and precision
Power and intensity
Speed and timing
Balance and coordination
Overall presentation
Kickboxing Division (Saturday Afternoon/Evening)
Open to Advanced Juniors, Young Adults, and Adult Students.
Kickboxing divisions are designed to provide students with a safe and exciting introduction to stand-up competition while emphasizing control, technique, and sportsmanship.
Competitors will be matched as closely as possible by:
Age
Weight
Experience Level
Matches will consist of controlled sparring rounds judged by a three-judge panel using the professional 10-Point Must System.
Important Notes:
This is NOT full-contact competition.
Power levels should remain light and controlled at all times.
Judges will reward effective technique, ring control, timing, defense, and clean scoring techniques.
Excessive contact, poor control, or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in penalties or disqualification.
These divisions are designed to be educational, exciting, and beginner-friendly.
