PHPG African American History Tour-Paducah


TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:


During this time of Paducah’s 8th of August Emancipation Proclamation Celebration (https://ket.org/program/kentucky-life/eighth-of-august-34260/) PHPG is hosting the PHPG African American History Tour - Paducah in collaboration with Hotel Metropolitan as a cross-county (1.5 hrs) tour. The ticket covers the cost of the tour. During the tour you will see 20+ sites that are considered significant to the African American Community of Paducah. Several of the sites already have have historical markers or monuments the remaining locations have been listed by PHPG to research, document, and apply for historical markers, monuments, grants for restoration and education. PHPG wants to document and educate others on the African American culture and history in the Jackson Purchase Area.
