The 2026 PEN America Literary Awards Ceremony returns to the historic Town Hall to honor and celebrate remarkable literature, along with the writers, translators, editors, and publishers who helped these stories come to life. We hope youll join us for a night of literary celebration and community. Featuring musical performances by and musical direction by Ulysses Owens Jr, three time Grammy Award winning drummer, the ceremony includes winner announcements, live music, and dramatic readings from selected works. Our awards are juried by panels of esteemed, award-winning authors, editors, translators, and critics. These authors are committed to recognizing their contemporaries, from promising debut writers to those who have already had a continuous and lasting impact on the literary landscape. The 2026 Literary Awards will be conferred to writers and translators.
