2026 OSCARS OF EXPLORATION

We’re delighted that broadcaster, journalist, best-selling author and child therapist Kate Silverton will be joining us as our Master of Ceremonies this year.

Kate’s connection with the Society goes back to her own adventures as a young venturer on Operation Raleigh in Zimbabwe in 1990. Launched by SES in 1982 following the success of Operation Drake, Operation Raleigh gave thousands of young people the opportunity to take part in challenging and inspiring expeditions around the world. That spirit of exploration continues today through Raleigh International.

Our own SES Raleigh Explorer Award, now in its third year and supporting six venturers this year, carries forward that same pioneering spirit, helping the next generation of young explorers create their own experiences and adventures, just as Kate did.

From groundbreaking scientific expeditions and extraordinary feats of exploration to the next generation of young adventurers, the Scientific Exploration Society Oscars of Exploration celebrate the people who are expanding our understanding of the world and inspiring others to do the same.

Join us for an evening of remarkable stories, prestigious awards and unforgettable moments as we honour explorers, conservationists, scientists and trailblazers whose work is making a lasting impact across the globe.
