On Sunday, April 26th at 4:00pm, internationally renowned concert organist Damin Spritzer will present a special organ recital at St. Stephen’s Church in Millburn.Damin Spritzer has performed to critical acclaim throughout the United States and Europe, especially in Germany, France, Belgium, and England, and also further afield in Israel and Brazil. Organists’ Review has described the performances of Damin Spritzer as “spellbinding…and fascinating…on so many levels.” She illuminates the stage and captures the audience the moment she walks on stage. Though often promoting the works of lesser-known composers, Dr. Spritzer will focus on the music of the great Baroque master, Johann Sebastian Bach, for this performance. Her critically acclaimed recordings represent her deep commitment to the art of registration and use of color, scholarship, research, and the promotion of historic instruments like those which inspired the organ at St. Stephens.
The organ at St. Stephen’s Church was designed and built in 1970 by the renowned German organ builder Rudolf von Beckerath. Inspired by the golden age of 17th- and 18th-century North German organ building, it is a remarkable instrument. Its fully mechanical (tracker) keyboard action and tonal design faithfully reflect the historic organs for which Bach himself composed and performed.
Join us for an enchanting afternoon of stunning music. Your presence will make it even more special!
