2026 Fall Nursing Class Induction Ceremony - Johnson Fine Arts Theater - Please come to welcome our 2026 Fall Nursing Class into the nursing profession. The Induction Ceremony is a presentation of the nursing students maroon scrub coat that has evolved from the traditional "capping ceremonies" when nursing students received their white caps upon entering clinical training. These ceremonies marked the transition from classroom learning to hands on patient care. As nursing has modernized, a ceremonial white coat replaced the white cap and has now evolved to a maroon coat to represents NSU's identity and symbolize the trust placed in nurses by society, serving as a visible reminder of students' commitment to compassionate service and professional excellence.
