Due to the warning for tornados, hail and severe weather happening across Chicago, we are sad to inform you that the 2026 NLG Chicago Annual Celebration is being postponed to Saturday, August 22, 2026. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but want to prioritize everyone's safety.

For decades, NLG Chicago has stood alongside communities resisting state violence, and each year, our annual celebration brings together those who make this work possible. At a time of increased state repression and fascism on the rise, our work to provide legal support to the movement is more important than ever before. Come join organizers, abolitionists, legal workers, movement lawyers, and long-time Guild members to reconnect and recommit to strengthening and sustaining our shared efforts!

The event will include dinner, drinks and the opportunity to celebrate those who embody the Guild’s values and have an impact on their communities and our movements.

Honorees:

We are so excited to announce our 2026 Annual Celebration Honorees! This year, NLG Chicago is excited to honor longterm Guild member Jim Fennerty with the Arthur Kinoy People’s Law Award as well as Antonio Gutierrez, Rey Wences & Xanat Sobrevilla with the Trailblazer Award for coordinating essential rapid response efforts during Midway Blitz.

Accessibility: In order to advocate for disability justice and accessibility for all, we are planning to host this event outdoors to help stop the spread of COVID. If weather does not cooperate, we will have tents for our outdoor space and will open up Haymarket's indoor space where we'll require masks, keep windows open, and run several air purifiers. Haymarket House is ADA accessible.
