Fort Wayne Neighborhood leaders interested in applying for a City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Improvement Grant are invited to attend one of four workshops that will explain the grant application process.This is the eighth year the City’s Community Development Division has offered Neighborhood Improvement Grants, which are designed to energize and improve Fort Wayne neighborhoods by supporting projects that improve the quality of life for residents. Grants up to $5,000 are available for projects such as benches, pergolas, tree planting, pollinator gardens, murals, sculptures, branded signage and more. Maintenance projects, social events and operating costs are not eligible.
New this year, Arts United will provide matching grants to three of the Improvement Grant recipients that applied for public art projects, for a total of $10,000 available in funding for each.
Applicants are encouraged to either attend a workshop or schedule a one-on-one meeting with the grant administrator prior to submitting an application. The applications will open open Tuesday, January 20 at 8 a.m. and the deadline is Friday, March 13, 5 p.m.
