-What is the NCDSA Buddy Walk?
The NCDSA Buddy Walk is the organization’s largest event of the year — and the heart of our community. Each year, nearly 2,000 participants come together for a day that feels like a true family reunion, bringing together individuals with Down syndrome, their families, friends, and supporters from across the state.
The event starts at 1 pm, with families able to bring folding chairs, tents or blankets to enjoy the vendors, music and food. It's a laid back celebration of all! The short 1/4 mile walk begins at 3:21 pm, lined by photographs of loved ones with Down syndrome.
-What does the NCDSA Buddy Walk fund?
The funds raised, both individual donations and sponsorships, sustain NCDSA financially, allowing NCDSA to offer programming, direct support to families, and provide information to healthcare providers, educators, and policymakers.
-How do I participate in the NCDSA Buddy Walk?
Participating in the NCDSA Buddy Walk is easy and there are several ways you can get involved. Registration and attendance is FREE!

-Why should I support the NCDSA Buddy Walk?
NCDSA is the only statewide, grassroots nonprofit serving people with Down syndrome in NC! Buddy Walk funds enable us to provide crucial services like family navigation, advocacy, medical outreach, education support, skill building, and social programming. As an audited, accredited and national award winning nonprofit created in 1987 and recognized for operational excellence, NCDSA is a go-to resources for families across the state.
