MOVE! is the Urban League of Greater Hartford’s signature summer event celebrating the many ways members of our community are active. Whether you run, walk, stretch, play, or dance, all abilities, ages and fitness levels are welcomed. The day kicks off with registered participants feeling the personal accomplishment of completing the 5K or 1 Mile race, followed by the City of Hartford's Kids Triathlon, and the YP Games team competition, hosted by the Urban League of Greater Hartford Young Professionals. Throughout the day, the community is invited to enjoy a variety of free fitness activities, crafts, food, giveaways and live entertainment, while exploring Hartford’s historic Keney Park, one of New England’s largest public parks!
This event is made possible through the generous support of the Hartford Marathon Foundation. We also use this event to honor the legacy of Earl Exum, a Pratt executive and Urban League Board officer whose untimely passing from a heart attack in October 2023 made us aware of the importance of a coronary calcium scan. Connecticut State Representative Tammy Exum continues her campaign to promote health and encourage participation in this event where Earl was the first to cross the finish line in the inaugural race in 2022.
