2026 Molt Blitz!

This fun and easy community science effort helps protect our beaches from the invasive European green crab and gathers valuable data on Dungeness!

If you are new to Molt Search you can learn to identify common crabs of Washington and participate in the largest one-day crab shell data collection event at Semiahmoo Park (on the green near the cannery lodge and museum) from 10 am to 12 pm.

If you have participated in Molt Search before but have some questions or want a refresher on crab ID, feel free to join us at Semiahmoo Park between 11:15 am and 12 pm, or at Cove Road in Larrabee State Park between 2 pm and 3 pm. You'll need a Discover Pass for Larrabee State Park.

If you know how to Molt Search and just want to participate in the Blitz please do so anywhere that you have safe and legal access to the beach! Thanks!
