Mercy Archives is pleased to announce the 2026 Mercy History Conference, to be held August 2–4, 2026, at Mercy Heritage Center in Belmont, North Carolina. With the theme of Shaping Culture and History: The Impact of the Sisters of Mercy, the conference will explore how the history of the Sisters of Mercy has influenced—and been influenced by—the wider world.
The gathering will feature a keynote presentation by Sister Linda Bechen, director of the Office of Mission Integration. Other events include panel discussions and opportunities to connect with archivists, historians and others dedicated to preserving, sharing and promoting Mercy’s story.
We invite proposals for presentations from across the Mercy world. This is an opportunity to share research, archival work or ministry experience with a broad audience committed to Mercy history. No history degree required! Just an interest in sharing a Mercy story or something of interest relating to Mercy.

Conference details, registration information and proposal submission guidelines are available below
Please mark your calendar for August 2–4, 2026 and plan to join us for this important event at Mercy Heritage Center. For immediate questions, please contact Shelby Dry, archives coordinator at [email protected].
