2026 MCYC Mill Creek Valley Cleanup by Canoe

Join the Mill Creek Yacht Club for the 32nd Annual Cleanup by Canoe in the Mill Creek Valley!

In April 1995 we began celebrating Earth Day by holding this community service event. It is organized in concert with the MCYC, Mill Creek Alliance, City of Reading and other local governments & groups.

THIS IS A HANDS DIRTY FEET WET EVENT. You might be reserving a seat in the canoe but your really won't be sitting in it much!! Come wearing waders, boots, and sturdy shoes that you don't mind getting wet and muddy. No open toed shoes allowed. Safety equipment (PFD, etc) will be supplied by the Mill Creek Yacht Club. You may also want to bring: shovels, pry bars, work gloves, sun hat, sunscreen, bug spray, personal snacks, a dry bag, a non-disposable water bottle. Extra supplies of this sort will also be on hand.

The group will divide and conquer cleanups along a one mile stretch of the Mill Creek in Reading. There are a lot of moving parts to this cleanup. You will be assigned a work crew. All who register will be notified of exact arrival locations before the date of the cleanup!
