Pruning is an important cultural practice used to maintain the health, safety, vigor, and appearance, of woody plants. It involves both art and science: art, in shaping plants in harmony with their growth habit to enhance their appearance, and science, in knowing how, when, where, and why, to prune for maximum benefit. During the in-person workshop, you will be able to watch demonstrations of pruning techniques on trees and shrubs and ask questions of Extension Educators. 2026 Macomb County Pruning Workshop
