Come Gee! Come Haw! The Klondike Dog Derby is returning to Excelsior for our sled dog and family-fun race weekend—February 13th & 14th, 2026!🐾
Friday, February 13th:
2:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Sled Dog Rides, The Excelsior Commons
Take the kids (or yourself!) on a real sled dog ride around the Historic Excelsior Commons. Pre-sale tickets only: klondikedogderby.com/sled-dog-ride-tickets
4:00 - 5:30 pm: Hug-A-Husky and Meet-the-Mushers, East Parking Lot Excelsior, behind Excelsior Brewing Company
Bring your camera and get ready to meet our racers. Grab a few autographs, and be sure to pick the teams you’ll be rooting for at the finish. Remember to always ask the mushers if it’s okay for you to pet their dogs. Some of them might be a bit shy (pre-race jitters!).

The Lake Minnetonka Klondike Dog Derby is a world-class sled dog race that brings the incredible sport of mushing to our local community. The 8-dog, 40-mile race will start and finish on Water Street in the heart of historic Excelsior, Minnesota and then run along the beautiful shores of Lower Lake Minnetonka.
