MGHCA Junior Fest 2026
The MGHCA is excited to announce the return of Junior Fest on August 7–9, 2026 at the Doug Woog Ice Arena in South St. Paul, Minnesota.
Junior Fest is designed to showcase the top 2027 grad year female hockey players in the state while providing an outstanding opportunity to compete alongside elite talent and gain exposure to NCAA women’s hockey programs.
College coaches requested the return of this event, and we are proud to bring it back bigger than ever.
Event Highlights
Only 136 total players selected
72 Forwards
48 Defensemen
16 Goalies
8 Teams
Guaranteed 4 games
Teams coached directly by NCAA Division I and Division III Head & Assistant Coaches
2 college coaches on every bench
Players receive:
Custom jerseys and socks to keep
Recruiting exposure
Direct access to college coaching staffs
During registration, players will complete a questionnaire and provide contact information so college programs have the necessary information to continue the recruiting process after the event.
Cost
$300 per player
Important Information
This event is expected to sell out quickly, so players are encouraged to register as soon as possible to secure their spot.
And best of all:
NO Gate Fee
Parents, family, relatives, and friends are welcome to attend free of charge and watch some of the best female hockey talent in the state compete at one of the premier high school showcase events in the country.
Game Format
Two 25-minute stop-time periods
Five-minute warm-up prior to each game
Teams remain on the ice following warm-up
If tied after regulation:
One 8-minute sudden death overtime period
If still tied after overtime:
Each team receives 1.5 points
Championship Round
If tied after overtime in championship games:
A 5-player shootout will determine the winner
No player may shoot twice until all players have had an opportunity to shoot
Championship Round Tiebreakers
If two teams are tied in points after preliminary play, the following tiebreakers will be used:
Head-to-head result
Lowest goals allowed
Highest goals scored
Coin flip
