2026 Impact Lecture

On behalf of the Faculty of Health, Community, and Education at Mount Royal University, Calgary, the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Mount Royal University is pleased to invite you to an “Impact Lecture” featuring Professor Catherine “Cathy” Carter-Snell:

In this lecture, Professor Carter-Snell will draw on nearly 50 years of professional nursing experience to reflect on a remarkable career shaped by trauma, interpersonal violence, emergency and critical care, forensic nursing, education, research, and leadership. Using Chaos Theory as a lens, she will explore how seemingly random events can reveal recurring patterns and deep connections, creating opportunities for care, learning, advocacy, and meaningful impact.

This lecture will be of particular interest to researchers, academics, healthcare professionals, students, community agencies, justice-sector partners, and others working in trauma care, violence prevention, mental health, education, public safety, and community well-being.
