Mark your calendar. The 2026 ICF Heartland Coaching Summit lands on Saturday, October 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Kansas Leadership Center in downtown Wichita. This is our biggest gathering of the year, built for members, affiliates, and anyone finding their way into the coaching profession.
The goal is simple to state and harder to pull off well: strengthen the coaching profession, expand what coaching can do inside organizations and companies, and build a network where coaches actually grow, lead, and push change forward together. One day, one building, a lot of people who get what you do for a living.
The day starts early and stays full. Grab coffee, a light breakfast, and a swag bag at the door before Tim Harrison opens things up with a keynote on using AI in a practical, human-centered way to grow your coaching business. Not AI as a buzzword. AI as a tool that still leaves room for the human part of the work.
From there, three rounds of breakout sessions give you room to choose your own path. A few worth flagging:
-And Then There Were Ten: Mastering Team Coaching with Joyce McEwen Crane, for anyone ready to move beyond one-on-one work
-Why Insight Isn't Enough: Neuroplasticity and Lasting Change with Andy Huckaba, digging into what actually makes new habits stick
-Beyond the Label: Choosing and Using Assessments That Move Coaching Forward with Lisa Weidmaier, Marnette Falley, and Ronda Dorsey, on picking tools that serve the client instead of just filling out a report
-The Changing Role of the ICF Mentor Coach with Teresa Schwab and Joyce McEwen Crane, covering the new mentor coach specialization and what it means for your practice
Lunch comes with our Awards and Recognition program, a chance to celebrate the coaches in our community doing standout work.
The afternoon wraps with an Insight Integration Session, a guided space to sit with what you've heard and connect it back to your own practice. Brighton West closes out the day with the final keynote on creating effective video content.
Want to make a weekend of it? An informal networking dinner happens Friday, October 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at AVI in downtown Wichita. A relaxed way to catch up with familiar faces before the summit gets going.
We'd love to see you there!
