About this Event
Join us for an exciting opportunity to learn the fundamentals of dairy cattle and livestock judging! Participants will develop skills in evaluating structure, muscling, balance, dairy character, and overall quality while building confidence in decision-making and public speaking. Members will also practice giving oral reasons, strengthening communication skills that carry far beyond the show ring.
This program will include a combination of in-person practices and online learning sessions to provide flexibility while ensuring hands-on experience with live animals.
📍 In-Person Meeting Location: Greenwood County Extension Office & local livestock farms (specific farm locations shared prior to meetings)
🕕 Meeting Time: 4:00 PM – 5:15 PM

đź’» Select meetings will be held virtually via Zoom for judging practice, terminology review, and reasons preparation.
Meeting Dates:
February 20th & 27th
March 6th, 13th, 20th, & 31st.
Whether you’re new to judging or looking to sharpen your skills for upcoming competitions, this program will help you grow in knowledge, confidence, and teamwork. Open to youth interested in dairy cattle, beef cattle, goats, and other livestock species.

Membership requirement: Current 4-H membership in is required for participation in this club.
Custodial Care: Please note that this event and its coordinators do not assume custodial care of youth in attendance. Adults (parents, guardians, volunteers, coaches, teachers, or other chaperones) must be present for the supervision of youth participants.
