For the 22nd year in a row, Goodwill Hawaii is pleased to partner with the Internal Revenue Service to provide free tax preparation services to eligible tax filers at seven locations statewide, including three on Oahu, two on the Big Island, one on Maui and one on Kauai. Last season, our Goodwill Tax Clinics assisted more than 2,800 households with filing their Federal and Hawaii State tax returns who received over $3 million in tax refunds and credits—completely free of charge!

If you or your household earned $69,000 or less in 2025 and do not own a rental property or have rental income, you may qualify for Goodwill's free tax filing service.

HOW TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT

• Select your preferred date and time from the ticket menu below; enter the quantity of individuals or households that will be needing tax preparation assistance; and go to checkout.
• Remember to bring all necessary documents to your appointment. See FAQ below for a list of documents required.
• Walk in appointments WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED this year.

Do I need to file a tax return?

Whether or not you are required to file a federal income tax return depends on your filing status, your age, your income, your dependency status, and whether you meet a few other special requirements. Click here to determine whether you need to file.

How do I know if I qualify for Goodwill's free tax filing service?

If you or your household earned $69,000 or less in 2025 and do not own a rental property or have rental income, you should qualify to receive free tax preparation assistance from Goodwill.

Will you take a percentage of my tax refund as part of the fees for your service?

No. All tax filings prepared at Goodwill Hawaii's tax clinics statewide are done free of charge. You keep your entire tax refund.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

• Proof of identification (acceptable forms of ID include a drivers license, passport, state ID)
• Social Security cards for you, your spouse and dependents
• An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) assignment letter may be substituted for you, your spouse and your dependents if you do not have a Social Security number
• Proof of foreign status, if applying for an ITIN
• Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return
• Wage and earning statements (Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R,1099-Misc) from all employers
• Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)
• All Forms 1095, Health Insurance Statements
• Health Insurance Exemption Certificate, if received
• A copy of last year’s federal and state returns, if available
• Proof of bank account routing and account numbers for direct deposit such as a blank check
• To file taxes electronically on a married-filing-joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms
• Total paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider's tax identifying number such as their Social Security number or business Employer Identification Number
• Forms 1095-A, B or C, Affordable Health Care Statements
• Copies of income transcripts from IRS and state, if applicable
