This is the Workers Ride for all of the Volunteers of the 2026 GAC. We will have mini rest stops setup at all of the churches for 5, 17, 35, 55, and 67. ASU has an afternoon home football game on 10/10. So, the Workers Ride will start and finish nearby at the GAC Office at 533 S Decatur St, Montgomery 36104
The 2026 Glassner Autumn Challenge will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, based on the confirmation of the final 2025 ASU home football schedule. The ride supports Montgomery Bike Club Cycling Safety Classes, Cycling Awareness Activities, and Bike Month. Pick from your choice of seven routes: Closed Concourse Course (1/4 mile), Historic Neighborhood Ramble (5 miles), Cruisin' in the City (17 miles), Smell the Roses (35 miles), Fabulous Fifties (55 miles), Mad Metric Century (67 miles), or Capital City 100 Century (100 miles). We will have our wonderfully redesigned routes back again for 2026 with our same stadium starting venue leaving from Alabama State University's new football stadium near downtown Montgomery and returning to Hope Hull, Pintlala, and Ramer in South Montgomery County..
Since 2019, the Glassner Autumn Challenge saw many changes with all new headquarters at the new Alabama State University football stadium plus completely re-designed routes. As the GAC is known for, Montgomery Bicycle Club members provided outstanding "radical Southern hospitality!"

Your suggestions were well-accepted and appreciated too! For 2026 again, Directors Robert & Bonnie Traphan have consolidated ride headquarters, including breakfast, registration, lunch, and showers into one convenient facility with routes still starting from the Capital City of Montgomery. Back by popular demand, the routes will be streamlined and optimized to take riders back South to the beautiful and quiet country roads of Pintlala and Hope Hull of Southern Montgomery County. Do you want to experience RADICAL SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY and FUN? The club members of the Montgomery Bicycle Club understand that no one understands the need of a cyclist better than your fellow cyclists. Club members proudly serve as your volunteers for the day to ensure your needs are met! No matter what distance you choose, you will be biking the beautiful, tree-lined, low-traffic rural roads of central Alabama with mechanical support, sag wagons, and themed rest stops supplied with plenty of fruit, light snacks, water, and sports drinks. The short routes offer gently rolling hills, while the longer routes offer moderately rolling hills. The routes will be clearly marked and will keep you on beautiful rural roads.
The ride will begin and end at Alabama State University where a delicious all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet will be served in the Hornets Lounge from 5:30 to 8:45 a.m. Cost of the breakfast is included in your registration. When you return be ready for some old fashioned southern hospitality - tomato sandwiches, BBQ, Asian foods, ice cream, and more!
