2026 Geelong Junior OpenThe Geelong Chess Club is proud to host the first Geelong Junior Open Chess Tournament on 16–17 May 2026 at St Joseph’s College, Newtown.
This event aims to bring together young chess players from across Geelong and regional Victoria to compete in a friendly and competitive environment while helping grow the junior chess community in the region.
The tournament will be ACF-rated and open to junior players in two age divisions.

30 minutes + 30-second increments per move

Round 2 – 12:15pm
Round 3 – 2:30pm

Round 4 – 10:00am
Round 5 – 12:15pm
Presentation – Approximately 2:30pm
Entry Fees
Early Bird (before 1 May): $70
Standard Entry: $90
Prize Pool
Total Prize Pool: $1,200
Prizes will be awarded across the following divisions:
Under 12 (born 2014 or later)
Under 18 (born 2008 or later)
Additional prizes may be awarded depending on entries.
