About this Event
Join us on Friday, February 6th for a full day of gardening and landscape training. Topics covered will include native plants, Florida-Friendly Landscpaing, home vegetable and fruit production, propagation and more. The day will feature 3 main speakers along with your choice of 2 of 6 hands-on workshops and a tour of our grounds and gardens. Workshop choices will be made as you purchase your ticket.
The agenda will be as follows:
8:30 am- Doors Open
9:00 am- Welcome
9:15 am- "Designing with Natives for Sustainable Landscapes" - Marilyn Young, Horticulture Program Assistant, UF/IFAS Extension Clay County
10:00 am- All About Master Gardener Volunteers and Grounds Tour
10:30 am- Break
10:45 am- "Home Hydroponics"- Sedi Samiei, Environomental Horticulture Agent, UF/IFAS Extension Nassau County
11:30 am- Lunch
12:00 pm- First Workshop (Choice of 1)
a. Propagation with Forysthe Pots- Sherry Mansfield and Darlene Heather, UF/IFAS Extenison Clay County Master Gardener Volunteer
b. Gardening Tool Sharpening and Maintenance- Phily Leatherbury, UF/IFAS Extension Clay County Master Gardener Volunteer
c. Horticulture Happy Hour: Teas from the Garden- Dr. Wayne Hobbs, UF/IFAS Extension Clay County

1:15- Second Workshop (Choice of 1)
a. Spring Vegetable Gardening. Plus- Sarah Harvey, UF/IFAS Extension Clay County Master Gardener Volunteer
b. Social Media Gardening Trends- Chris Gay, UF/IFAS Extension Clay County Master Gardener Volunteer

2:30- "Florida-Friendly Yards: Beautiful Landscapes that Bring Communities Together"- Dr. Wayne Hobbs, UF/IFAS Extension Clay County
3:30- Door Prizes, Evaluations, Thank You for Attending
Registration is $20 per person, snacks will be provided but please bring a bagged lunch. There will also be time for you to get your gardening questions answered by Master Gardeners and learn more about the work of our amazing volunteers. We hope to see you there!
