The Peoria Bach Festival 2026 concludes with a grand finale—the annual Festival Concert featuring the Peoria Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra. This year’s program is a celebration of rich legacy of the Bach family, featuring Orchestral Suite in G Minor by his son Wilhelm Friedemann and the amazing Sinfonia Concertante featuring a solo quartet by another son Johann Christian who was a teacher of Mozart.The concert will also showcase two exquisite choral works: "Unser Leben ist ein Schatten" ("Our Life is a Shadow") by Bach's great-uncle Johann Bach conducted by Dr. Martin Dicke and Cantata No. 78, "Jesu, der du meine Seele" ("Jesus, You Who [Rescued] My Soul") conducted by Dr. Andrew Bruhn. The concert will conclude with an arrangement of "Now Thank We All Our God" from Cantata 79.
Joining the choir and orchestra are outstanding vocal soloists: Esther Lee, soprano; Elizabeth Thompson, mezzo-soprano; Trevor Mitchell, tenor; and Gerard Sundberg, baritone. Don’t miss this spectacular evening of musical brilliance!
