Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Explorers prepares individuals 15 ½ to 21 for careers as firefighters. This program meets every Sunday from 6 a.m. to Noon to develop essential skills. Admission is highly competitive and requires a physical examination, written test, and interview. The subsequent recruitment is on January 11, 2026. All three dates listed below are mandatory. All participants should arrive at least fifteen minutes early; the doors will be locked at noon.
Dates
- Week 1 ~ 1/11/26 - Orientation at Noon
- Week 2 ~ 1/18/26 - Written Test and Physical Exam at Noon
- Week 3 ~ 1/25/26 - Oral board interview
Location
- Week 1 and 2 meetings will take place at LVFR's HR building located at 833 N Las Vegas BLVD, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
- All explorer candidates will park in the Cashman Field upper parking lot off of Las Vegas Boulevard, across the street from the HR building. They will then use the pedestrian overpass to cross the street into the parking lot.
- Week 3 will take place at the water treatment facility located at 3271 N Durango Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89129.
