Join Bova Aus & Virbac for Equine Health Reimagined: Addressing Gastric Disease, Behavioural Challenges, and the Future of Joint Care
About this Event

Our annual Equine Roadshow returns with this year’s theme; "Equine Health Reimagined" will focus on gastric disease, behavioural challenges, and the future of joint care.

We are delighted to host three keynote speakers;

  • This year we are thrilled to welcome Dr Gemma Pearson, an internationally recognised equine behaviour specialist and the first RCVS Veterinary Behavioural Medicine (Equine) specialist, serving as Director of Equine Behaviour at The Horse Trust while running a referral clinic and conducting research at the University of Edinburgh. Gemma will be delivering her presentation "In pain or being in pain" When horses show challenging behaviours like bucking, spooking or aggression, how can we tell whether pain, behaviour, or both are involved? Led by the only RCVS-recognised specialist in equine behavioural medicine, this session outlines a systematic assessment approach and a multimodal treatment framework to support the best outcome for each horse.
  • Joining Gemma, Dr David Rendle will be returning to the roadshow for 2026. A specialist in equine internal medicine with a masters in equine asthma and RCVS certificate in equine medicine, David is chair of the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) Health and Medicines Committee and also sits on a number of industry advisory groups. He will be delivering a presentation on "Hot off the Equine Medicine Press". In this session, Dr Dave Rendle will lead a practical, open discussion on what’s new and how it should be influencing clinical practice. Key updates will be explored across PPID, obesity and equine metabolic syndrome (EMS), laminitis, gastric disease, parasite control, and other relevant topics, with a focus on translating evidence into real-world decision-making.
  • To complete our trilogy of thorough-breds, Professor Eva Skioldebrand, a veterinarian and Professor of General Pathology at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, specialising in cartilage biology, osteoarthritis, extracellular matrix research, and the development of precision diagnostics and disease-modifying therapies for OA in horses and humans. Eva will be presenting "A New Pathway for Managing Equine Osteoarthritis" This session explores the limitations of current equine OA treatments and introduces a promising disease-modifying drug approach, alongside molecular biomarkers that enable more accurate diagnosis and monitoring of treatment impact.

Join us from 6:00 PM for networking, canapes and drinks with presentations commencing at 6:30PM.

Registration $10pp will be donated to
