2026 Elder Care Symposium: Protecting & Powering the Brain
About this Event
The main focus for our 2026 Elder Care Symposium is Protecting and Powering the Brain. We will dive into topics such as boosting your memory and improving cognition as we age, understanding behavior and cognition changes associated with dementia and Parkinson’s, how chronic stress impacts our memory and cognition, how to advocate for individuals with diminished capacity, the key pillars of brain health to reduce cognitive decline, and what we can learn from SuperAgers who are defying the norms. All sessions are presented by credentialed speakers and experts in their respective topic areas.
Learn from some of the best minds in the field of aging and meet representatives from senior care providers, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, memory care, independent living, funeral homes, technology companies, social service agencies, realtors, and much more.

GENERAL ADMISSION: $40
PROFESSIONALS (includes CEUs/Contact Hours): $80, early bird rate through July 31, 2026
Professional rate is $100 beginning August 1, 2026
All registration fees include a continental breakfast, hot buffet lunch, snacks, and drinks.

Info: Matthew Goerke believes the key to a good memory is training. In this one-hour session, he will teach attendees quick recall skills that will dramatically improve their memory. A sharp memory is important in all stages of life; it improves efficiency and makes you feel more confident. Participants will leave with new skills they can use every day.

Info: SuperAgers are individuals in their 80s and above who have memory skills as good—or better—than those 20-30 years younger. These individuals defy conventional expectations of older adulthood and provide a model of unusually successful cognitive aging. Dr. Molly Mather will discuss what is unique about the brains of SuperAgers and how these discoveries deepen our understanding of healthy brain aging and cognitive resilience.
