Join us at the Marion Orton Recycling Center for the Mayor's Earth Day Proclamation and family-friendly city-wide cleanup of our parks, lakes, streams, trails, and streets. If you have a special spot you’ve been wanting to steward, now is your chance! The cleanup will be wrapped up with a Tree Giveaway, starting at 12:00.
Parking: Please park across the street from Marion Orton Recycling Center at St. James Missionary Baptist Church (we thank them for use of the lot).
Cleanup Details:
Start: Immediately following the 9:00 Mayoral Proclamation and Stewardship Awards, volunteers will be given supplies and a cleanup destination, then will head out to their cleanup spots.
After: Once cleanups are complete, volunteers will return with trash and recycling to be sorted.
Extras: Bagels and coffee will be available at kickoff, and t-shirts will be available for volunteers at the end of the event. We will also be giving out Ozark milkweed and wildflower seed packets as part of the Mayors' Monarch Pledge!
We thank the following for their help and support with this event: Keep Arkansas Beautiful, The Illinois River Watershed Partnership, Beaver Watershed Alliance, St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Cooperative Extension Service’s "Know the Flow" Stormwater Education Program, Einstein Bros Bagels and Jammin Java.
