The community is invited to celebrate International Earth Day with the City of Grande Prairie and County of Grande Prairie at a community event filled with activities and learning opportunities, to show support for environmental conservation!Date: Saturday, April 25
Time: Noon to 4 p.m.
Cost: Free
Location: The Bowes at Bonnetts Energy Centre (10017 99 Avenue)
At the event, attendees can explore hands-on activities and interactive exhibits that highlight how small actions can make a difference, including:
Visiting the GP Grows Seed Bar to choose seeds and start a customized garden at home.
Planting a small pollinator or salad garden to take home in a re-usable starter tray, filled with soil and seed mixes. The pollinator mix features native, climate-friendly flowers that support local bees and celebrates Grande Prairie’s Bee City designation.
Exploring a live beehive to see how pollinators help plants thrive.
Checking out electric vehicles, including an electric bus and golf cart.
Taking part in recycling activities, trying self-watering planters and picking up trees saplings to plant in your yard.
Enjoying free family-friendly activities like face-painting!
