2026 Connecticut Symposium on Climate Resilience
About this Event
The 2026 Connecticut Symposium on Climate Resilience is hosted by the Yale Center on Climate Change and Health in collaboration with the Office of Climate and Health at the Connecticut Department of Public Health. The Office of Climate and Health has a five-year cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to implement the Building Resilience Against Climate Effects (BRACE) framework in Connecticut. The 2026 Symposium is an annual convening to consider the health impacts of climate Change in Connecticut, discuss progress, share lessons on BRACE activities in Connecticut, and identify future priorities and collaborations to ensure a healthy Connecticut in the face of climate change.

Info: This session opens with a 10-minute policy landscape analysis from Leila Henry, YCCCH Fellow and MPH candidate, covering the current state of climate and health-related policy in Connecticut. The analysis will cover legislation that was passed during the 2026 Legislative Session, as well as legislation passed in 2025 that is set to take effect in upcoming months. Building on this, the group will be led through an open discussion on climate and health priorities facing Connecticut communities. Topic may include access to cooling and broader strategies for engaging communities, local governments, non-profits, and other partners in this work.
