The Great Falls Foundation and Calleva River School are partnering to bring you a great summer of freestyle on the Potomac!
The Chute Outs are a Potomac River staple, hosted by Valley Mill Camp for many years. These events offer freestyle competitions throughout the summer. They are open to all, and every skill level. Low key, fun, friendly competitions where the participants do their best tricks in a sets of rides on whatever feature happens to be in at the river level for that day.
Points will be scored with a simplified scoring system. Competitors will be ranked by their scores, and are encouraged to help with timing, scribing, or judging for other classes (excellent opportunity to learn about scoring).
Prizes are awarded via a free raffle format to competitors following each event. This allows all competitors have an equal chance to win a prize regardless of skill level.
Immersion Research and Calleva River School and Store have graciously donated prizes for the event. Please consider showing support to these awesome companies that are supporting the Potomac community.
All paddlers with an interest in playboating are encouraged to come out and give a ride, This is a relaxed and fun event to help grow the love of rodeo here on the Potomac.
Venue: We will meet from 5:00-6:00pm in the Anglers lower parking lot to sign up for the competition and then head out to the best feature for that day’s river level.
Dates: Monthly on the Second Thursday (April is on 3rd Thurs), April-August
4/16, 5/14, 6/11, 7/9, 8/13
Check-In Time: 5:00 PM
Race Start Time: 6:00 PM
Entry Fee: FREE! Donations to Great Falls Foundation appreciated.
